The shower mat looks great. However, it does have an odd feel and weird tactile quality. It's not as 'abrasive' as loofah, but somewhat similar. The top surface is adequately porous, the mat appears to be a tight knit matrix of overlapping looping strands of polyvinyl chloride material. If that makes sense. I took a chance and ordered this. It’s more expensive than others but for me it’s worth the cost. Most importantly, the tub is much less slippery with this mat. I use this with a shower chair and the shower chair remains stable on this mat, not wobbly. The mat stays in place without suction and to me that’s a plus because it is easily lifted, leaves no stains in the tub, dries quickly when hung over a rail and has not grown mold.
