Battery has not been an issue, still running on the initial charge while relying on sleep mode when not in use (haven't been using the physical switch, which apparently was problematic on earlier models). Battery is great, very easy to operate and turn on, timer function, zero function, etc. all seamless. Turns off automatically when I forget to. Only complaint regarding the energy saver is that it times out pretty quickly. When using for French press I have to turn on and turn off again to start the timer, because between weighing the beans and starting the timer, the scale goes to sleep. All coffee scales should have flow rate at this point. its a great metric thats been helpful for my manual espresso. The 3 gripes i have a these:1. The rubber drip tray is designed very well but the edges are still open. They should design the ridges to make ALL the liquid run off the back edge, instead of the switches still being exposed.2. This was a great little scale for about 6 months until it started giving entirely incorrect readings. I had used the scale about once a day since buying it and it very suddenly started to fail.Readings change by 5-10% when picking up mug and placing it back down with no change to contents.
