I bought this to replace the pad on my Bosch 3107, which finally wore out after 14 years of service. The new pad is significantly thicker, and goes on just like the original. The package advertises that it "lasts 5x longer than previous pad," and while I'm not sure that I'll get 70 years out of this new pad, it should certainly last as long or longer than the original.While it's termed "extra soft," that's only in comparison to the stiffest pads. Great product. The quality of the sanding pads from Bosch last forever. Compare this to the Porter Cable junk that I purchased at Lowe's and purchased again. The PC junk lasted me 1 hour total in sanding time before the plastic backing that the screws are mounted to cut thru. Put washers on it and they cut thru. So bought a new one, installed it, and 30 minutes later the same junk. The Bosch 8 hole sander has now been put back into service for the past 50+ hours of sanding without missing a b...

This works great for polishing/buffing out furniture. The only thing is that you need to learn how much paste wax to apply to furniture first. If you follow the directions, this is a great tool. Puts a coat of wax down that protects the furniture and means you don't have to do as frequently as you did before. Easy to clean.
