The manufacturing quality and paint coating of the post, mount plate and decorative base are first class. The quality of the decorative base aluminum casting is quite impressive. All the parts have a very nice semigloss black finish, and there were no blemishes on exterior surfaces. As mentioned by others, the post seemed to be on the short side and in order to meet the USPS mailbox height requirement, and only about 12 inches of the post extended into the ground. 1. It was challenging on the post length. It's 53.5" and not long enough. This should be 65" long. You need 41" from the bottom of your mailbox to the ground, then you have 12.5" of post. The post should be bury 24". I used 12" circular cardboard (12" deep) and mixed the cement.2. The four short screws were too big and did not fit the post cover. I had to go to the hardware store to get the right size. Other than that, it's all good!I'm only taking off 1 star for all that, I love it! Great qu...

I found this mailbox post after finding out that my current post had been changed by the previous owner and it was not in compliance with the homeowner's association guidelines. This was almost $150 cheaper than what it would have cost me to replace it locally. The post came complete with instructions and was easy to put together. I have now had it for over six months and it still as sturdy as it was since I installed it. Very pleased with this mailbox post, and the savings!

Very nice looking design and very sturdy, but the paint is inferior. It chips off very easily and after just 2 weeks appears to be peeling in a few areas. I will probably have to sand it and repaint it within a couple months. Great post (and matching mailbox which I also bought), but they need to improve their paint prep and quality.
