I bought this as a panner for a telephoto lens. I wanted to be able to level the lens quickly to be able to pan the horizon, and this works great for that. I use it on bogen/manfrotto tripods where the binding set screws hold it securely. Very satisfied.A game changer for me, though, was to add a self-sticking rubber pad to the top. Easy to use and saves me having to level the tripod with its legs. Holds my star adventure tracker with camera, long lense, and counterweight no problem. It stays in place, and you don’t have to turn blue trying to lock it down.

There is not much info out there on the Sunwayfoto tripod products, but I decided to give them a try. I was tired of dealing with my cheap ball head... any adjustment throws everything off. I bought this to use for shooting HDR photos with a 5D on a panoramic head, and using a Theta Z. I need to be able to level the camera as accurately as possible for this purpose. After testing this leveling head, I've found that the bubble level built-in is not very effective. It's not that it's not accurate, it's more that it doesn't allow for very fine adjustment. Well made and sturdy. The rival of the more expensive one. I would recommend this one over any other…it is that good. Just perfect for panoramas and anything else that requires a perfectly level working surface.
