We have two of these beds from Amazon for our ONE dog {;-) They are great mattresses. They are comprised of two very different foams. The dense, flat, lower half is memory foam while the upper half is orthopedic egg crate foam.Some time ago "Whitney" threw up so unexpectedly, on one of the mattresses, that she couldn't get off the bed in time. I hate the way it smells - it's absolutely awful. We've had the dog bed for two weeks, and I can still smell it when I'm close. However, I'm giving it four stars because my dog loves it. I put her blanket on it, and she doesn't seem to mind the smell. Also, the memory foam padding seems to be high quality and comfortable for her. She sleeps through the night now, no more getting up and pacing because she's stiff and sore.
