Believe me when I say that "longevity" is not an applicable evaluation point for a cat fountain filter. I change the water in my cat fountain every other day, because they can drop hairs or impurities into the water easily and I like it to be clean for them, and I wash the fountain down as well. It’s kinda hard to get excited about filters but I’ll try. What excellent filters! There are 10 filters per box with each individually wrapped. Visually, they appear pre-washed but old habits die hard so I still rinse the new ones prior to first use and never found any loose particles. The design is simple but has three levels for my cat to drink from. He particularly likes the water flowing down a chute. I have not owned it enough to speak to the longevity of the pump - I have not had much luck with other small pumps so am not prepared to give five stars. The bowl is easy to disassemble and clean, haven't cleaned the pump yet. I very much like being able to disconnect the bowl from the wiring without unplugging the main line from the wall outlet.
