It consists of a small plastic turbine that spins when water passes through it and as such requires a minimum velocity to start spinning. This isn't the thing to use if you want to detect slow leaks. I got 2 if there and they are worthless to me right now.The Brass treads does not fit 3/4" Female NPT Thread Adapter BRASS or PVC.1. I tried forcing a 3/4" female Thread Adapter and grind down the treads and it started to leak.2. I tried a 3/4" PVC and the 1at starting of the Flow Sensor does not line up with the PVC so they can only go in cross readed.3. the good, the Flow Sensor works if you can find a connector...Its a waste of money

Works great for me!My setup: SEN-HZ43WB + Raspberry Pi 3 + shower pipe :)Measured couple times, by filling up the 10.5 liters bucket.Accuracy is around +-5% which looks better than the 10% at the manufacturer specs.Thanks!

I installed this device with a PEX adapter on each end. I used T-Plus-2 on each end as I normally install threaded pipe. After 24 hours it started leaking. I took it apart and the threads inside the adapter on one end were stripped out like tiny hairs. I examined the flow sensor and realized that in machining the part, the surfacing grinder made a pass over the threads. This caused the cutting action on the adapter threads and hence the leak.
