We have an Australian Shepherd. She eats way to fast. This at least slowed her down to the speed that our Border Collie. Before getting this, she would scarf down her food and then bully our Border Collie and take his food if we weren't watching. The bowl was a little small, but we were able to remove the silicone insert and place it in her regular stainless feeding bowl. Good product.

I purchased this bowl for one of our foster dogs, and it has helped her slow down while she eats. The first few times she had breakfast or dinner, a few pieces of kibble got under the removable insert, which made for some funny times watching her try to get them (she did). We got the two cup pink bowl, and it's amazing. We can even add fruit and vegetables in it, without damaging the insert.Cleaning it is extremely easy too. The media could not be loaded. At first I was worried that this would be too small. It does hold a cup of dog food, probably a cup and a half with the insert. If that is not in, then I could see 2 cups of food fitting fine. It does have a rubbered bottom but still slides. I wish is would stay a little better because my dog ends up walking with it as he eats. It stays a bit but not well. The insert is sturdy and I don't worry about my dog chewing on the soft texture when I add things like yogu...

Bowl with insert works amazing to stop my 6 mo puppy from eating too fast. Quality of the bowl is very sturdy & the insert made of rubber is great quality.

It works exactly as advertised. It goes into your existing dog bowl and slows down meal time. It does that well.The problem, in my case at least, is that the gravy and saliva make this thing nearly impossible to grip to remove from the bowl for cleaning. I had to let it soak in soapy water in order to separate it from the bowl. My dog is not an excessively drooly dog.I also found that even though it seemed to fit well in my existing dog bowl food managed to get underneath it. It's a tad waste...
