It will work with any router but setup may be complex. First off the app did not work could not get past the requirement I turn off cellular data. I dont have that option. I bought this after my TP-Link extender died. Then after reading about the security issues with China based TP-Link, I decided to go with another brand (but even this one is still made in China). My complaint with this extender is that by default it sets itself up with so-called "smart" routing. It takes both the 2.4 and 5.0 signals and broadcasts them as one SSID. The setup is not easy. Sure, in theory, it's just follow the instructions on the app, but sometimes it just fails to set up and you have to uninstall the app and try again. However, it does extend wifi without needing additional log ins. I noticed my better internet in my farthest room immediately after I set it up. Note: it might look like it isn't connected because it's blinking red. Check your wifi before you mess with it.
