Got the hacksaw for free since it was missing the front connector. I thought it might just be scrap metal but the coonector was avalaible. At first the connector would not fit because the flat portion was just a little too wide to fit through the square hole even on the diagonal. Ground it off a little bit and it slid right through. Installed a new blade and it tensioned properly.Now I have a sturddy hacksaw fo the cost of the connector.

I had to return this item because it was too large to fit through the front hole on my hacksaw. I was NOT going to grind this item down to fit. The cost of this item was more than the cost of a complete hacksaw that I was able to purchase at Walmart.

When my old Stanley hacksaw’s blade broke during use, this piece disappeared into another dimension. I looked everywhere and could not locate it so I ordered this replacement hoping it would work. As another said, it is slightly too large to slide into the older saws but some very minor grinding with a Dremel allowed it to fit perfectly. Saw is back to working and I saved $ not having to buy a new saw. Pleased to have found it,

This was an embarrassment saver as I bought a new Stanley hacksaw in a second hand store for a few dollars and thought I had a bargain until I found this part was missing. I was surprised to find a replacement for it and it works a treat.
