Have only been using it for a short time, but the quality seems very good. The strap is fairly wide and has not twisted like our old leash (not a TUG brand). The mechanism works well and the tension is good. The locking mechanism allows for momentary locking with just a push without having to unlock it again. And, of course, you can lock the lock. This leash handle is ergonomic, and the retractable feature works well and does not tangle. However, after about 9 months of use the nylon tape starts to fray on the edges and this jams the leash, preventing retraction. Unfortunately, the nylon tape cannot be replaced.
