My previous filter was chewed up by a mouse, and it was kind of an expensive higher-grade hepa filter. This filter obviously isn't to that level, but absolutely does the job and I'd wager is better quality than most oem-included filters, so can still be considered a bit of an upgrade. Most vac filters are semi-universal these days, this fit just fine on my Craftsman 12 gallon vac.

This Stanley filter fit perfectly in my old Shop-Vac 16 gallon 6hp wet/dry vacuum, although the securing cap wouldn't work and needed to reuse the old Shop-Vac one. We got this for our shop vac because we got tired of having to re buy those paper filters constantly. This filter is washable, so you just rinse it off when it's dirty, and use it again. I would let it dry between uses if you are not vacuuming up water or wet items because it will get pretty gross.
