Updating the review. I purchase another one of these to go into another car.The newer model, bought May 30, 2024, is noticeably quieter than the one bought last year in 2023. It also takes a lot less force to open the lid, but it still closes securely.The good. I like the size, and it cools quickly. It works well, especially on a car seat. Only a week in, but this Alpicool Mini refrigerator has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what I'd end up with. It keeps our food cold at a safe temperature and fits quite a bit for such a small refrigerator. It draws little power from my power station. I am very pleased with my purchase. Will update after we've been on the road a bit longer. For now, happily keeping my almond milk, salads, yogurt, dog's food and more nice and cold. I have a Dometic 12 volt fridge in my home-on-wheels, but I wanted a freezer. As I am not having any issues with my five year old Dometic I figured it was worth adding a small 12 V freezer, since I had the space, versus purchasing and all in one fridge/freezer combo. I've been using it for 4 months now in my car. It works great, makes little noise and keeps things cool even when the car is out in the sun for hours. I bought the smallest unit I could find because I only need a few things to be cool. It's not a huge problem, but the lid overlaps to the *inside* of the compartment.
