I prefer flashlights that use alkaline batteries. One of my smaller Thrunite flashlights went bad, and they had discontinued that model. This Gearlight is perfect for my everyday needs. The beam is bright and adjustable. When the power went out recently, I could turn it toward the ceiling and get good illumination in the room. The price is very good for the quality. Recommend!

The flashlight is very well-made and incredibly bright, almost too bright to use outdoors at night (it ruins your night vision). But I wish it were more like a Maglite in a number of ways.For one thing, the on/off button is inconveniently on the back end of the device, and you can't just depress the button to shine a beam momentarily. This a great flashlight for the price. It is SUPER bright and makes all over flashlights look like they're not even on. I truly have loved this flashlight. I've probably bought 6 of them over the past 5 years or so. That being said, the reason I've had to buy so many is because they consistently have an issue with corrosion of the batteries.
