I bought this hose to use along with my Makita Model B04550 Finishing Sander. I also bought the Makita 410870-A Adaptor For Model BO4551 to connect the hose to my sander. The combination of adapter plus hose fits perfectly and works great. The other, larger end of the hose fits into 1 1/2" hose on my shop vac. The connection between this Makita hose and the adapter is a good snug fit for horizontal sanding, but not snug enough to stay connected in vertical applications like sanding walls. Whe...

Hooks up directly to my Makita Random Orbit (BO5041) and Finishing (BO4556) sanders. It’s a very snug fit as other reviews mention, but has worked very well for me. I had to use a Ridgid vacuum accessory adapter with the tip cut off to connect to my Ridgid shop-vac, but it does the job. I would recommend using a bag made for your shop vac for added dust collection and to help save your filter. Con for me- I have a 6-Gal Ridgid shop-vac and this hose (being that it has a pretty small diameter)...

The small end of this hose fits my Makita BO5030 5" Random Orbital Sander great. Unfortunately, the larger end did not fit my older Craftsman shop vac that has 2.5" hoses. I tried a Rigid Model VT1407 adapter, but it didn't fit. I found a Shop Vac Model 8011711 kit at Lowes which contained a Shop Vac 2.5" to 1.25" adapter catalog # 9068500 which worked. I got this hose to hook up to a makita 5" RO sander (BO5041) which has a small, ~3/4" dust port, connected to a cyclone to cut back a lot on shop dust during sanding. I'm trying to get my shop dust in check and this was a big source of fine dust.Quick summary: the hose is cheap, stiff, but gets the job done.
