I had been using mallets that were a combination drumstick/mallet. Those were great for mallet work, but the design trade-offs for dual purpose use resulted in less than optimum balance. Plus, since I play traditional grip the left mallet felt awkward.These, on the other hand, are perfect in every sense. The feel and balance give me good control. I love the material on the sticks. It is perfect for my Rav Vast drum which works well with just hands but being that I have arthritic hands - this makes playing the drum more pleasurable. The wood is made in Japan and the top part material part looks similar to boiled wool. The most important thing to me is it won't scratch my precious drum.

A bit expensive, but well made. A little short for my preference tho.

I got them to use with a KORG wavedrum, and they feel and sound excellent.The drum sensor knows if you're using hands, sticks or mallets, so I wanted these for those dampened hits, that more naturally mimic a bass drum or eastern Tom style drums.
