I got this kick mic to supplement my recent purchase of an EAD10 alongside some other inexpensive microphones to compare. I gave this a try both as a kick mic and as a tom mic, and it surprised me in both configurations. Setup was easy (as easy as any kick mic if you have a ported reso head) and the sound quality was surprisingly good at this price point! Nice and thumpy with very pronounced bass tones, as would be expected from this type of mic.I would love if it came with a tom mount since ...

I believe that this mic doesn't have enough sensitivity and almost no mid or treble response at all. It's very heavy, which sometimes can mean it's quality, but in this case, the quality of build is there, yes, but something keeps it off the grid of easy usability, and I had to EQ the high mid and high Hz zones all the way up, and radically up the gain. Really good low-end mic for the price, it was an excellent value. I used this as a kick and tried it out as a floor tom mic. It actually has a surprising amount of rejection of high frequencies, perfect for the application. The mount and angle adjustment are solid, giving you plenty of positioning options. The cable connector is good quality, too.

This Bass Drum Microphone with Dynamic Pick Up Pattern says it's from a brand called "Jcurycke " and maybe future units will indeed be from that brand, but for now, it's a HEIM HDM 61.Sounds great, works well, high quality materials with a nice metal body and built-in threaded mount. It's inexpensive, and easy to use and install! If you need a kick drum mic, especially for live sound applications, this is a good one.Recommended!

The media could not be loaded. I'm a working drummer who appreciates an inexpensive microphone, so long as it can provide passable sound in live performance at a minimum. Typically microphones in this price range are not your first choice for recording projects, unless you don't have a ton of cash on hand. While I have a pair of very nice Sennheiser microphones for recording, I like the idea of a cheaper microphone that I can throw in a bag and take to a gig in a bar without worrying that my ...
