When they say lightweight, they mean lightweight. There is no padding at all on the back and a very thin "padding" on the shoulder straps. The majority of the backpack is made of this crinkly, plasticy material which keeps weight down and allows is to be rolled up and compacted. This can give it a cheap feeling if you are not expecting it. While it is water resistant, I would not stay out in the rain for too long as water does start to seep through the material.
