Man...I just recieved two of these MONSTEROUS blades today! I cannot heap enough prais on them. The crafted ship and smithing is awesome. I would have done the sheaths differently, but my goodness. These are thick and heavy, and shake the earth when they stick into a target. When I began throwing knives, i started with the cold steel perfect balance. If you look at the photo closely you can see there is no edge. I mean no edge at all. The handle is leather and this is good. I'm going to be throwing it. I took my belt sander flipped it over and in about 20 minutes of work I had it in shape to go to the wet stone. Remember not to get the blade too hot. It's a 50 dollar knife that you throw. If you are expecting a 400 dollar shinny thing to show off don't get it. This is a knife a mountain man would carry. You could drive it into a tree and ...

This is one hefty chunk of steel!I took a star off due to shoddy leather cuts on the handle (grip was cut to uneven lengths compared to the opposite side). The leather is dark on mine because I've treated it with wax and oil to waterproof it against rain and snow.The blade came heavily oiled, which is great, but it's a dirty oil, so I changed it to a more clean oil so as not to soil clothing upon touch.Personally, I use the no-spin throw technique (technically the blade rotates 1/4 spin), so ...

At first glance it seemed like a sturdy knife. It was balanced pretty well however within my first 5 minutes of throwing this knife it split right between the handle and the blade. Definitely not worth the money. I'm very disappointed. I can't recommend this knife to anyone for any reason.
