I LOVE this scraper. I'm working on a furniture refinishing project and needed to strip 100 year old stain and varnish. This has worked beautifully, and significantly better than chemical stripper. No chemicals, no fumes, no issues. It has been amazing to be able to work on the project indoors without needing ventilation (for this step, at least). This is one of my absolute favorite tools for stripping wood. I saw someone using it in a video so I had to buy it and try it out. Honestly I was not disappointed at all this tool is amazing its not sharp enough to cut you but shato enough to do the job. It's small light weight sturdy and easy to handle. Made removing paint from furniture and door trim much faster and easier. My husband had been scraping, sanding, and planing trim to remove decades of layered paint. I came in with this and was able to remove it quickly because it functions so well. The fit is comfortable enough for me to scrape two door trims without tiring out my hands. He tried it and wished he had it sooner - said he would have saved so much time!

Good scraper. Carbide is soft, so have a flat diamond hone nearby. You can flip the blade, but you will be sharpening the carbide. Once it starts squealing and squeaking you are dull. That being said, it’s comfortable in hand. I’m using to scrape the finish in corners on oak stairs, but now, I’m scraping the whole stair, then sanding. Much faster. If it came with a harder blade, it would be 5 stars. If you use for latex paint removal, it’s perfect, still buy a flat diamond water stone.
