I'd been using Cuisenart for 25 years, and finally retired it. I HATED the design of the Cuisenart bowl and locking mechanism! I went through several bowl assemblies because they kept breaking. This is honestly a terrible product. It claims to be commercial grade, but it's poorly made and pathetically weak. It overheats and stalls constantly, the lid connection point broke within weeks, and now the cheese shredder attachment has ripped itself apart. I use this in a commercial kitchen, and trust me it is complete garbage. Wish I had just returned it when I had the opportunity.

Loads of power and will last a long time if you take care. I was a professional chef, and now my machines don't have to work 24/7. This gives you the power required for both common and uncommon tasks, at a price point much less then the workhorses used in production kitchens. A great tool for the serious home cook. I had 2,5quart before and gave it away. I wanted 3,5 quart for bigger family. This machine is a work horse and can handle a lot of abuse. It works at my house daily. One feature that needs to be a bit more worked on is the continuous feed. The feed doesn’t have any “ramp” towards the bowl, there is a lot of mess between a bowl and machine. I would still buy this machine even with that little annoying part.
