UPDATE 05.01.2021. The batteries last you about 2 months with occasional listening about 1.5 hour per day. Thats with rechargeable NiMH 2000 mAH batteries. These batteries lasted me just short of 2 months for limited usage per day (average about 1 hour per day for 2 months). Thats about 60 hour of operation for one set of rechargeable batteries. Great basic radio at a low price. Yeah digital has advantages over analog, but this unit works well, has good volume and the ability to put rechargeable batteries in it is a plus. i had an older version of this radio that took D-cells, so switching to AA cells was welcome.

I wanted just a basic radio and this fits the bill. Runs on batteries or plugs in. Sound quality is decent. Good buy for the money.

From previous experience in my home, I didn't expect to hear ANY AM signals, but this little radio brought in as many AM stations as FM. AM reception is great; FM is heavenly.Very happy with this Panasonic model.
