You get what pay for. It's nice and slim and great for the keychain. It's loud and will get attention. As others have said it does take a little more lung power to blow this whistle but when you do you better have your fingers in your ears.

These are really great whistles. You can actually control how loud they sound, and they are very loud. I now have bought about 1/2 dozen of the Fox whistles, my family keeps taking them and don't return them, they also love them for hiking and for safety. Thank you Fox for making such and important item and so inexpensive. My favorite is the Pearl when riding my bike, people seem to hear it the most, lower sound.

I bought this to wear while traveling, as a distress whistle. I'll keep it for that purpose. It's small and lightweight, which are important for my purposes. It's not terribly loud. I just hope I'm never mugged more than 3 blocks from the nearest good Samaritan!

MT on my mind

I like that this whistle is shaped differently than most whistles and is very loud. I work in an elementary school and am required to wear a whistle. Small children always seem to want to touch regular shaped whistles, but haven't wanted to touch this one after 3 months of wearing it.

Probably one of the best whistles I could have bought, nor just on amazon. Great, loud, high pitch, very clear. I put it on my keys and take it camping too. Very trustworthy, love it.
