Yeah, simple and easy to open and close. It does seem sturdy. I would have, and probably should have, bought the 2 pack rated at 620 pounds, but weighing 300 pounds made me a bit unsure. So, I spent a bit more than needed. Anyway, I opened it, sat on it and it seemed pretty sturdy. Let's see how it holds up when used for a while. I do wish it was a bit taller though. Too bad it does not come with a cushion and/or a bag. For the money, it would have been a nice thing to include.
