You can install this in a few seconds without removing your heat restraint. You'll just need to lift it one or two notches to make room.When you have it positioned in a Z pattern (as shown in the pictures), it's quite sturdy. You'll get a bit of bounce when driving if you have a tablet, or something heavier than a phone on it, but it's not bad. I would not recommend this based on a couple large gripes. First and foremost, it cannot hold an ipad, at least not while being sturdy. I had a hard time getting it to not wobble intensely when in use, which makes it impossible to use as a media player for my passengers. The other gripe is that it is not very adjustable in where the tablet is held while being viewable. The mount doesnt slide on the arm so you really dont have much adjustment in terms of centering the device.
