Wow, I got a nice variety of small, self-tapping M4 screws for less than I pay for a crappy lunch. These screws use Phillips head drive but I did not strip any out which tells me they have solid head construction. Of course you get more of the shorter sizes than the longer screws, but there's a wonderful variety to suit your needs. I was able to easily drive these into wood and mild plate steel with no issues and no pilot holes. It's a great set at a bargain of a price to add to the shop.

I love these kinds of screws with the wider washer heads for securing shelves to shelf brackets. The larger washer head gives me a bit of adjustment room if needed. I know they're marketed for metal, but they work great in wood as long as you drill a pilot hole first.I typically use the shortest ones for things like wall shelves and longer ones for securing worktops to heavy duty wall mounted brackets.
