I recently dropped my phone while it was charging with the cable connected. The phone survived, but the cord did not – it was bent almost 90 degrees where the Lighting connection meets the head of the cable. Any attempt to bend it back to its proper position was futile. This had been a great cord – fast USB-C charging and very long (maybe 10 feet). I immediately started scouring Amazon for the same type of cord, but with a 90 degree connection. I got this for three reasons, all of which this cable satisfies perfectly. 1) It's long enough to reach the power adapter on the floor up to my lap on my bed with lots of room to spare. I can move my iPad around freely without worrying about pulling on a cord that's too short. 2) The cable has that 90-degree bend, so the cable that plugs into the lightning port in the bottom of my older iPad extends perpendicular to the port to the right or left. I love this for my car! I have it to hook my phone up to Apple CarPlay, it is long enough to reach my phone, without having an excessive amount of cable. I love the 90° angle to help reduce the cable from bending.The only reason for a 4 instead of 5, is that there are times when the Apple CarPlay is wonky, and it didn’t do that with the other cable I used before getting this one.
